While I have not been overtly running my big mouth as much as I used to, I have been dropping songs like “Worldwide Ceasefire” or “Universal Peace and Love”. Thankfully some people are catching the vibes.
Fri. April 11 2025 / 6:30 – 9:30pm / 1925 S. Michigan Ave, Chicago
I’ll be speaking at Chicago’s South Asia Institute, on racial harmony. But honestly, is there such a thing?? I may bruise some feelings, but at least I won’t be boring. I’ll also spin a DJ set afterwards.
Hope to see you there! Shouts to Brian Kiegher for the invite.

What are some of the quotes that have inspired you over the years?
Are they from bell hooks? James Baldwin? Malcom X? MLK? Marsha P Johnson? What are some of the songs & artists on heavy rotation on your playlists? How many times have you turned up the volume to “Not Like Us? “There is a saying that goes, “Everything you love about America is because of Black people.” Another that goes, “They want our rhythm, but they don’t want our blues.” Kendrick raps “They not like us”…Who is this proverbial “you” & “they” in these contexts? Hint, it’s not just yt people, it’s us nonBlack POC too. We are in a state of retrograde.
We are being told that diversity, equity, and inclusion are more harmful to the way of life than mass shootings. We are being gaslit into believing that a Nazi salute on National television is simply a heartfelt hello. Congress forced the removal and renaming of #BlackLivesMatter Square in Washington DC under the threat of withholding Federal funding to the city.On Monday, demolition began. How did we get here? What does solidarity look like now?
Join us on Friday, April 11th, @southasiainstitute for an interactive community workshop where we will reimagine solidarity and confront anti-Blackness in Asian American communities. We are honored to welcome our keynote speakers @xavier.ramey & @mczulu Dominique Rowland. We are excited to offer this workshop to the SASM community at no charge thanks to the generosity of our friends @southasiainstitute and @healingillinois for making this possible. Although this is a free event, you must register to attend. We will focus specifically on Black and Asian solidarity, not just South Asian, and all are welcome to learn with us.
