Atlanta has always been a hotbed of industrious talent. By simply having more tangible conduits than most other markets, the city has given rise to a rampant DIY culture. ATL artists are known for surrounding themselves with capable people, who can assist one another in forwarding their objectives. This committed work ethic has carried many an artist from single room workshops to international stages…. even to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
One brief glance at the resume of A13mando (Armondo) and you can see this paradigm re-establish itself within the new generation. Still only in his early twenties, he has become a multidimensional talent in the realms of vocal performance, music production, multi-genre DJ sets, marketing and promotion. He has even landed a number of modeling opportunities.
The established, classical culture within the USA is undeniably Hip-Hop. It is pervasive, showing its influence over the worldwide vernacular, used even by its most ardent detractors. It can be argued however, that the impact of industrial concerns has skewed the direction of the culture.
The emphasis on lyricism has taken a back seat to corporate interventionism in many instances. To hear A13mando’s more cerebral, yet energetic, lyrical delivery punctuates the idea that Hip-Hop was always designed to serve as a shining beacon for the younger generation.
Modeling, acting, DJ, promoting….. When you see performers exhibit this type of proficiency it’s exciting, because you know it’s only a matter of time before it leads to unbelievable opportunities. As young artists settle on their primary form of expression, and relentlessly deliver it to the masses, they can still draw on all of their earlier experiences.
This is why it’s important to be a renaissance talent and keep likeminded company. Less time is wasted seeking out assistance. The power of the entire industry is already in-house.
